Morocco Officially Goes Visa-Free for Ghanaian Passport Holders Under New Bilateral Waiver Policy

With immediate effect, Ghanaians will no longer require traditional visas to travel to Morocco. An online authorization, granted within 24 hours without any embassy appointments, will now serve as the only requirement. This simplified process marks a significant shift in travel access between both countries.

This development is one of the key outcomes from a bilateral agreement reached with Morocco’s Foreign Minister, H.E. Nasser Bourita, during my two-day working visit. With existing direct flights already in place — and more expected to follow — this visa waiver policy is set to enhance trade, boost tourism, and deepen people-to-people connections.
