The world’s biggest celebration of creativity, innovation, and media Cannes Lions welcomed some of Ghana’s finest creative minds this year, and they did not disappoint. Held in the south of France, the 2025 edition of the Cannes Lions Festival marked a powerful moment for African representation, with Ghanaian and African creatives stepping confidently into global conversations around storytelling, branding, and innovation. This year’s theme was all about creator-led content, community, and culture, as 2025 marks the first time user-generated and creator-led content officially overtakes professionally produced media. The shift in storytelling power is now undeniable, and Ghana is clearly at the forefront of this global evolution.

Chef Abby – TikTok Ghana Chef Abby’s culinary content has long been a TikTok favorite, but at Cannes Lions, she stepped up as a cultural ambassador. She wasn’t just there to observe — she was seen. Abby was spotted interacting with TikTok’s global CEO, highlighting the growing influence of African creators on the global platform. She also shared a moment with viral food critic Keith Lee, merging two culinary content powerhouses in one iconic link-up.

Enil Art (Israel Derrick Apeti) – Woof Studios. A creative genius known for his digital storytelling and motion work, Enil brought his talents to Cannes in a truly immersive way. He painted a vibrant canvas of the Fountain de la Place du Général de Gaulle — capturing the process using Meta Smart Glasses, creating content in real-time. During a creator session, Enil surprised attendees with a live mini portrait of Issa Rae, painted on the spot. The moment captured attention online and in the room, reinforcing Enil’s role as one of Ghana’s leading visual artists.

Mister Meister & Natasha Mann-Dedey – Co-Founders of Jambo Spaces. The visionary minds behind Jambo Spaces, a concept blending creative co-working and community building, were present as Ghana’s entrepreneurial edge in the creative economy. Mister Meister and Natasha showed how Ghanaian creatives are building the infrastructure to support future generations of artists, designers, and digital storytellers.

Adele & Maame Yaa Adubea – Winners, Young Lions Africa Digital Competition Representing the future of African advertising and digital strategy, Adele and Maame Yaa Adubea earned global recognition after clinching the Young Lions Africa Digital Competition. Their win brought them straight to Cannes, where they networked with top global agencies, brands, and digital leaders—an inspiring milestone for the next wave of Ghanaian talent.

Beyond Ghana, Africa was repping hard. Notable creatives from across the continent included: Adetutu (Nigeria), Ify’s Kitchen (Nigeria), Cent Twinz (South Africa) – A dynamic duo delivering compelling, high-energy content and Mpoomy Ledwaba (South Africa) – An entrepreneur and speaker using storytelling to empower.

Global creator voices such as Kai Cenat, Amelia Dimoldenberg, Keith Lee, and Brandon Edelman spoke at the Lions Creators Programme, reaffirming how influential creators have become as co-creators, not just amplifiers. The presence of African creatives in these spaces underscored a growing truth: Africa is no longer the emerging market, it’s the now market.

Cannes Lions 2025 made it clear: storytelling is evolving, and Ghanaian creatives are no longer watching from the sidelines. They’re shaping narratives, building platforms, and commanding global stages.
