Nine influential figures received custom-made Cacao-branded merchandise in Kigali as part of the BAL basketball finals that took place over the weekend. The event attracted stars including Dave Chappelle, Mr. Eazi, and Giggs, as well as notable political figures like Paul Kagame. The finals of the Basketball Africa League (BAL), now in its fourth year, took place in Kigali, Rwanda. This year’s BAL featured major games in four cities: Pretoria, Dhaka, Cairo, and Kigali. The five-day event included back-to-back games featuring teams from Angola, Nigeria, South Africa, Libya, and other countries. The Cacao brand, managed by Ghanaian designer Kweku Bediako, recently secured the license to become the official fashion brand for the BAL, highlighting the merging of sports and entertainment on the continent. Cacao distributed exclusive merchandise to certain influential figures at the event, including the CEO of Afrofuture, Abdul Karim. In a statement, Gbemisola Abudu, the VP of NBA Africa, emphasized the importance of merging sports and entertainment to positively impact the communities they serve. BlacVolta Entertainment, the core media team responsible for marketing amplification and PR for the Cacao brand, was present to capture all the moments.
